Christmas Care Tip
The incisors (front teeth) of all rodents and lagomorphs (rabbits) continually grow throughout their lives, so in order to stop them from getting too long, they need to be given plenty of hard objects to gnaw on, such as wooden houses, special chew blocks, wooden tunnels or logs, or coconut husks. Make sure that they are animal safe products as some woods are poisonous (particularly cedar). There are plenty of these sorts of products for sale in pet shops and online pet stores so why not buy your little furry friend a present for christmas that could potentially save his/her life in the long run. If their teeth are left to grow, it can be life threatening as they can make eating impossible and, at worst, they can grow upwards into their brain, so whether you have a gerbil, hamster, guinea pig, chinchilla, squirrel, degu, rat, chipmunk, jird, mouse, or rabbit, make sure it always has plenty to get its teeth into!

Care Tip of the Month - December
Parrots enjoy a shower every now and then and it helps to keep their feathers in good condition. Use a spray bottle or a hose with a spray attachment once a week.

Care Tip of the Month - November
Small furries can catch colds from humans and they can be quite serious for little creatures, so if you have a cold then get somebody else to tend to your pets until your symptoms subside. If this isn't possible, handle them only when necessary and make sure that you wash your hands before you touch your pets or anything in their cage.
